Aspen Dental

I have a previous complaint regarding Aspen Dental that concerned my grandson. They told him he needed 8 fillings and 3 or 4 crowns. I wouldn't take him back to Aspen because I felt they were taking advantage of him. It took me 9 months for me to get him in to see my dentist. They told him he only needed 2 crowns and 2 fillings. I'm glad I got a second opinion.

I was examined a young college student for a second opinion. He was scheduled at Aspen for THIRTEEN fillings.

I did my own exam and x-ray series to be sure. The boy had NO cavities.

NONE! Aspen was going to drill all those perfect teeth just to turn a buck!

Guess why most dentists do not do bridges anymore? Because cutting teeth down for bridges so often makes the pulps die, then root canals or necessary.

That is why implants should be used to replace teeth, not bridges. Why didn't your (probably young) dentist offer an implant and implant crown? Probably because he did not know how to do implants and would have to refer to a surgeon. He would not get a commission for it.

So he wanted to do a bridge, for which he would receive a big fat commission. In the old days, we dentists used to do more conservative bridges with gold. This required much less cutting of teeth. Some of us still do these fine bridges where patients let us.

But unfortunately, most patients demand white porcelain back to their wisdom teeth. Porcelain bridges require a lot of cutting.

First mistake: neglecting your teeth, then agreeing to have them removed. Second mistake: Going to a clown club like Aspen instead of a regular private dentist Third mistake: Not eating for so long before dental treatment.

Unless they have GENERAL anesthesia, EXTRACTION PATIENTS NEED TO BE WELL NOURISHED BEFORE SURGERY. A sorry joint like Aspen making a good denture is about as likely as Hailey's Comet returning to earth early.

That is probably the happiest ending anyone could hope for at Aspen. You MIGHT be able to get your money back.

If they had messed up your mouth, you wouldn't be able to undo the damage. Aspen- a one stop chop shop!

Going to an outfit like Aspen for a complicated thing like implants is like taking a jet turbine engine to Jiffy Lube for an overhaul. Wrong place for the job, buddy.

You should have known that. Implants need maintenance over the years, and Aspen dentists last about 6 months before leaving.

I'd give a couple to a few stars for pulling teeth, cleaning teeth, x-rays, etc, but, for the love of everything holy, do NOT go here for dentures. I finally walked out with a set because I had to, I have no choice at this point, I am almost 10 months in to it and my...

Do you REALLY want to go to a dentist that operates with coupons, like buying Hamburger Helper at Kroger? Can you imagine presenting a hospital a coupon for 10% off coronary bypass operations?

Health care is different. Come up with an honest price for a procedure, and stick with it. None of these bogus high prices discounted down. That is plain dishonest.

I put a fantastic upper denture in a patient's mouth. So realistic, you cannot tell it is a denture. It cost me an arm and a leg in my labor and lab fees. There is a world of difference between dentures like this a junk you get from Aspen and Affordable dentures.

Expect to pay $1600-2000 PER DENTURE for top-notch dentures. Cheap buys you inferior dentures.

Unfortunately, at A$pen, expensive also buys you cheap dentures. You might be "incredibly crafty" with a Dremel, but without a dye marker and Pressure indicating paste, you cannot know exactly where to grind on the denture, nor how to make it super smooth after you finish grinding.

A gyp joint partners with a loan shark to put patients deep in debt. No big surprise there Aspen is not above adding nonsense fees to your ledger to wipe out any credit you might have.

The goal is to keep the Aspen corporate bank account perpetually replenished with your money. Moral of the story: 1. Have a reserve in the bank for dental emergencies so you are not forced to borrow from shady characters. 2.

When you need dental treatment, ask friends and coworkers for recommendations of honest and competent local dentists. Don't even think of going to some chain clinic advertising on TV.

These A$pen scamsters have been sanctioned and fined by FOUR state attorneys general. The crooks just pay the fines with no admission of guilt and resume the scamming.

PBS even did a television expose on them. Yet some people just believe anyone that advertises anything on a TV commercials.

Lesson to be learned: any health outfit that has to advertise on TV to get enough patients is probably crooked. Good dentists get plenty of patients via word-of-mouth referrals.

Aspen Dental Questions

Aspen Dental in District 3, Tennessee - Went to Apen Dental to have my dentures made to replace my old dentures. Laurne was the first dental tec that got it right. She was very good at her job. She is the only reason I will be back.

I went for to many visits To the office in Jackson Tennessee (over a 3 month span, should have not taken that long for a new set of dentures) Lauren was the tec I saw today and she is the only one who took her time with me. All of the others just rushed me out . They treated me like I was cattle. Lauren is the only one who I will want to see in the future. She was the only one who showed any kindness to me during my visits. She should get a raise for her excellent "Customer Service".

Funny, Dental Technicians are not supposed to deal with patients. They are supposed to work behind the scene.

Licensed dentists are supposed to do the impressions, bite records, rim contouring, try-ins, and then refer it to lab techs to do the fabrication/ modifications.

At Aspen Slipshod Dental Joint they apparently let technicians do tings that are illegal. Even the best denture at Aspen is not as good as the worst denture a sophomore dental student makes on a really bad day.
