Went for six month simple teeth cleaning with dental insurance that was approved by Aspen Dental and was told that it was the law that every cleaning must have a complete dental exray and would cost $190.00 over and above the approved dental plan. Needless to say this was the scam and that they should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of elderly on set incomes.

We decided to go to another Dental group recommended by the insurance company.

We have all ready spent close to $10,000.00 of our own income for their services. Really upset by this lack of professioalism and honest.

1. A dental office is not a car wash.

No reputable dentist is going to just clean your teeth without doing an exam first. And x-rays are necessary to see if and where calculus deposits are present under the gums. That much is no scam. However, once the initial exam and x-rays are done, more x-rays do not need to be done at every subsequent cleaning.

On patients with no gum disease and a very low incidence of decay, I may not take x-rays for three years at a time.

2. You are very, very foolish going to insurance companies for recommendations of dentists. If you shop for dentists on the basis of some stupid insurance list, you are much more likely to get incompetent and/or dishonest dental offices nearly as bad as A$pen Dental.

Nobody but the most desperate dentists sign the one-sided contracts to be on your insurance company's list.

Wow, you forked over $10,000 to these corporate bandits! They hit the jackpot with you!

Do you know what Aspen and a *** have in common? They have been screwing their customers for years but they keep coming back.
