Aspen Dental is the worst Dental practice in the world! Over one year ago I ended up having a bridge put on my 4 front teeth. I paid over $2,400.00 that they told me insurance wasn’t covering! I received bill from them a month later saying I owed another $1,500.00!...

Normal price for a bridge unit is about $1100. So 4 unit bridge would cost about $4400.

Bridges are covered at 50% on most insurances but subject to a yearly maximum of $1000-1500. So your part probably not really out of line. The sad thing is most competent dentists do implants now and not bridges, because bridges require cutting down sound teeth. Of course, the newbie dentists at Aspen don't know how to do implants, and would have to refer them out.

When they refer things out, they do not earn commission. This is the sort of nonsense you get when you go to a shyster corporate outfit instead of a regular independent dentist.

If dentures break repeatedly, it means they either do not fit accurately or were made too thin, or both. A pair of dentures for $1500 is really cheap, so they might have been made of what is called cold-cured acrylic.

But even if you had paid twice as much at Aspen, the result would have still been junk dentures.

That is what Aspen is good at: taking your money, and giving you mediocre dental care. That is what happens when Wall Street sleaze owns dental clinics, instead of licensed dentists.

Same story time after time: Patient goes to Aspen Dental Crime Syndicate or another sleazy joint like Affordable Dentures hoping to save money. Young dentists working there take well-known short cuts, use cheap supplies, use cheap horrible dental lab, and fabricate sloppy dentures that patient cannot wear.

Patient gets mad. After a few tries of improving dentures, dentist gives up. Patient requests a refund but sleazy corporate clinic refuses all refund requests. So patient has to go to a competent dentist- what they should have done to start with- and have good dentures made over and pay for it out of pocket.

Will patients ever learn their lesson? No, I have seen the same thing happening for the 40 years I have been practicing dentistry. There is a sucker-cheapskate born every minute. Incidentally, cancer therapy doesn't do a thing bad to teeth.

Sometimes it makes the mouth dry a bit, which makes caries more probable. Guess what?

A dry mouth without enough saliva also makes it hard to wear dentures. You would have been better to keep your teeth and wear a custom tray filled with fluoride every night.

Aspen Dental in Grandville, Michigan - 88 yr old Grand Mother - defective dentures

1.0
Details
Purchased dentures 2yrs ago. So far, 5 teeth fell out at charge of $80 each to cement back in. I’ve complained to the dentist in charge of this office and she recommended my Mother purchase another set of dentures from them and she would not receive any credit from the ones she purchased 2yrs ago.

I fabricate a lot of dentures in my practice. How many denture teeth have come out in five years from my dentures?

None that I know of. If done right, it is that rare. Of course, if you run a ratty corporate clinic operation and rush doing everything, you don't clean all the wax off teeth before processing. The pink plastic doesn't bond well to teeth with wax on them, and the teeth fall out.

The teeth never bond well to the flexible junk their "Comfylyte" dentures are made of. They are always coming out. Got news for you. It isn't just the Aspen chop shop branch you visited that has these problems.

It is all their clinics! Find a good independent dentist you can trust that owns his own practice.

The only thing Aspen does extremely well is empty patient bank accounts and put them deep in debt.

#1738502

$6500 is high for an implant and implant crown, unless exotic grafting procedures are required. Around here in Topeka it would be $5000 max. Don't see how an oversized temporary could cause tooth loss unless the tooth was very loose to start with.

@Anonymous

Nothing wrong with tooth root. Gum stretched with big temp crown, was in severe pain for many weeks.

So tooth was removed due to damage to gum. I have photos. Was throwing up daily from the pain. I hardly leave the house anymore. That's the going rate for implant with bone grafting where I live.

I have to be put to sleep due to fear of all dentistry now. (extra funds)Nobody will go to the dentist in my family anymore when they see me in depression and crying myself to sleep.

I'll never be the same, I dont want profit 4 pain and suffering just tooth back. Dentistry is a broken system....all about profit, dont care if they help or not, just about the bucks....

Aspen Dental in Chesterfield, Michigan - What a rip off

1.0
Details
I went to the Chesterfield, Michigan to get dentures. They got me for over five grand and I got a set of plates I could never wear. I went in for a fitting and when the girl was done making the changes. She asked me to sign for the adjustment so I signed the form. I asked her when should I come back? Her reply was anymore visits you have to pay for them, that was the form that you signed. That was for your final fitting! Do yourself a favor and run to another dentist office!

I got a better set of plates at the drive thru window at mcdonalds. Cheaper and they actually work.

Nothing like a good set of plates. Screw aspen dental.

Most patients are disappointed after having all their teeth ripped out and dentures put in. Can't remember any that were happy they did not save any teeth.

Making good dentures is hard enough. Making them at a chop shop like Aspen, that does not allow enough time for appointments, nor competent lab support, is impossible. You should have: 1. Saved some teeth for partial dentures.

2. Gone anywhere except Aspen and other similar corporate clinics.

First of all, you should NEVER patronize any health care facility that advertises on TV. It is the hallmark of scammers.

Second of all, it is impossible to make dentures in one day. They take many appointments to make right. Third of all, if a patient is intent on pulling all their teeth, WHICH IS ALMOST NEVER A GOOD IDEA, the way to do it is extract all the back teeth, let the bone heal for 3 months, any only then take impressions.

The result will still have many inaccuracies, but at least be wearable. You chose the worst possible place to do one of the most difficult possible procedures!

18 dollars or 18 thousand dollars- if Aspen thinks it can strong-arm you for the money, it will. Remember this outfit is not owned by a licensed dentist, but a Wall Street private equity firm, Leonard Green & Partners. And let me tell you, these rascals are VERY cash-strapped.

#1712791

Aspen dental is concerned with the $money not your teeth. Expect to keep receiving bills and calls from collection agencies.

Aspen is a chain dental clinic and not known for alot of things when it comes to good dental care and billing, etc.--- in addition to the expensive charges they impose. You were under the mistaken impression you were dealing with a regular, honest dentist who would never do nefarious things like Aspen did to you.

Find a dentist locally in private practice. You will get better care without the feeling that you have been scammed.

Good luck getting a refund. Aspen's corporate bank account is a like a Black Hole in outer space.

Gravitational pull is so strong nothing that ever is sucked in can every escape.

You are not dealing with an honest private dentist here. You are dealing with a corporate organized crime syndicate.
