I am an Aspen Dental patient from Ohio and had a root canal 2 1/2 weeks ago; On October 10th, I had a temporary cap installed and the cap came off over the weekend. I called and spoke with Jessica on October 14th and she said she’d return call- Nothing. Don’t do business with someone unreliable!!

To be honest, a missing temporary crown will not cause harm to the tooth, unless the inside of the root canal is exposed. It causes cosmetic embarrassment.

These rascals probably already charged out for your crown and have your money. Therefore, they have little incentive to run down to the office and treat you for a missing temporary. Amazingly, most of the time the employee dentists at these dumpy clinics are not given a key to the office nor an alarm code. They could not get in the office to treat you even if they wanted to.

Forget the fiction that Aspen offices are independently owned.

They are all owned by the same greasy investor group, Leonard Green and Partners LLC. If you think they give a cr@p about patient welfare, you're delusional.

I love aspen and their staff, you walk in and it feels like family. All are very nice and make sure you are well taken care of, and are comfortable. They listen to all concerns if you have any.

Financial servicers | Aspen Dental in Jacksonville, Florida

On june the 3rd 2019 I financed 6,767 dollars for treatment. I was told when my dental insurance paid that amount would be forwarded to my finance company .My insurance paid, and the money was not forwarded. Trying to call the accounting section is like pulling teeth. A recording tells you they will call you back. One and a half hours later still waiting.

The old "collect all the money up front, and keep the insurance payment" trick. Heard it many times before.

Aspen accounting is like a Black Hole in deep space. It sucks any money anywhere near into it, never to be seen again. Better find an independent dentist with his own practice to do the work next time.

No telling how much of that Aspen treatment was unnecessary and will fail in the future. Nobody save money going to a *** shack like Aspen.

I can never understand why patients ask for advice from other people, than ignore their warnings and proceed to be shafted. Why did you ask for your friends' advice in the first place?????

People never save any money going to Aspen. They pay more.

Plus they often get their mouth butchered. Don't think any other corporate dental chains will be much better.

They were probably talking about the size of the patients' bills, don't you think? After all, they are under constant pressure to produce big revenues by their corporate bosses. To the shysters that own Aspen sizes indeed matters- as long as you are talking about the size of the swindle perpetrated on patients.

They should honor scheduled appointments before walk-ins. I had a similar emergency with a chipped molar (moderate discomfort) and was told to make an appointment. Why should I have to sit for 1hr+ the day of my appointment while their staff addresses a 'walk-in' patient? After an hr, I walked out. Will take me teeth elsewhere.

Why would you have to wait? Probably because they sized the walk-in patient up for a bigger sucker OR they thought they could diagnose more lucrative treatment on him than you.

At the end of the day at corporate scam operations like Aspen, it is all about getting enough revenues to make corporate production quotas at the end of the month.

Nothing more. Don't know why you went to a third-rate Wall Street owned gyp joint instead of an honest independent dentist, but obviously you made a mistake.

The word is "molar," not "moller." Normal dentist could have fixed your broken tooth with a silver amalgam filling. The hustlers at Aspen always want to do crowns.

Temporary partials are for short-term use. They are not to use over long periods, because they are not reinforced with metal and break. The either did not log in the check they got from your insurance, or are running a scam on you trying to collect more money. Deal with crooks, and you will be cheated.

No surprise there. Why did you go to a cheesy corporate clip joint like Aspen instead of a regular dentist.

You will have no recourse unless you hire a lawyer. Since Aspen is not owned by licensed dentists, your state Board of Dentistry can do nothing to help.

Made an appointment. I told them I wanted the first one of the day. 8am on a Friday. I waited a month to get that appointment.I arrived 15 min early. I was the first to sign in.By 8:15 the lobby had 8 people waiting. After three people got called back that arrived after me. It was 8:30. I had another appointment I had made with my family dr. So I had to leave without ever getting back to see anyone. Service really sucks!!!! My time is valuable also!

They did you a great favor. If you had been seen by the dentist, they would have run up a huge list of work not even needed.

Then you would have had to talk to aspen's sales person in another office who would have pressured you to sign a huge ripoff loan. After all this you would have left with no work done and a huge credit card bill for fun.

You probably think I am joking, but I am not.

Aspen's Smart Scheduling System ranks appointments on the basis of profitability. Your appointment was probably low on the list, so you were the last one they intended to treat.

The receptionist was clearly having a bad day or felt the need to stereotype me either way I was left feeling completely uncomfortable. She threatened to call the cops accusing me of being aggressive which was not the case. My appointment was supposed to be free and she tried charging me $210 so I tried to explain that i called beforehand and was told it'd be no charge. Rather than sort it out i chose to just leave because it was upsetting being treated that way and beyond uncomfortable. They lack communication and communication skills.

"Free" means free to empty your wallet. No communication skills?

They aren't paid to communicate, they are paid to filch as much money from patient-victims as possible. What a surprise you would have gotten if you had agreed to their overtreatment. Tons of shoddy treatment you did not need, and a huge debt to show for it.

Hope you go to an honest independent dentist next time. Break the corporate chain clinic habit!

First of all, nearly all dental offices offer some form of financing, all a better deal than at Aspen. SECOND of all, many general dentists (like me) do root canals on molars at far less cost then the specialists.

Of course, the young inexperienced Aspen dentists don't. Third of all, no honest dentist bills out ALL the treatment with the finance company. The usual practice is to bill treatment only as it is started. The criminals at Aspen like to bill it all up front, then make it difficult to get appointments to finish treatment!

By the way, if you have that much trouble with cavities, the best money spent would be making fluoride carriers trays to wear at night. This will stop decay dead in its tracks.
