what appears on the screen is that I had a monetary loss of $2, but it was $2234 !!!!They claim they will give a partial refund, but I want a complete refund. This was a horrible experience and very upsetting.
I feel I was completely deceived and taken advantage of. God please help anyone else who is treated like this.

Verified Reviewer | Taylors, South CarolinaWanted to extract teeth for no reason...
Went in knowing I needed 2 teeth extracted and cleaning since I haven't had dental insurance in year's since being disabled. Aspen Dental had other plans like extracting at least 4 more or all of the bottom back teeth to match the other side and even out they said with a parcel and let's put a crown on that one for a $1000 plus and financed through Dentalfirst Finance and overcharge me with APR Rate of 14%99 instead of the 28%99 which it's in the paperwork I have in front of me as I write this.
Being told I didn't complain within the 60 period which I didn't know until a good 30 days later but told Aspen Dental and thought it would be taking care of. Little did I know these people meaning both companies were in the business of ripping people off for every penny they can. Don't trust these people they lie to many people while waiting and listing to a few people complain and at the same time another person with my first name happen to be there and called back he jumped up and went right back and I had been there ahead of this person just glad it wasn't brain surgery. Well I could probably say a bit more but you should get the point.
THESE 2 COMPANIES ARE NO WAY IN THE BUSINESS OF HELPING PEOPLE WITH LOW INCOME AND HELPING THOSE WITH NO INSURANCE LIKE THE TV COMMERCIALS SAY...
By the way when I was employed I went to the Dentist twice a year I'm 60 year's old now and never been hurt as much by a Dentist getting numbed up or ask if I was okay or nothing, Seemed he was more interested his young Assistant since she was a little on the pretty side instead of the patient. If I didn't know better I wouldn't have known I was even there.
Preferred solution: Probably be talking with a Attorney big companies shouldn't be trying to cheat people after you've already been sued for the same thing...
User's recommendation: I'd in no way trust or recommend Aspen Dental

I 'm filing a complaint against Dr. Thomas Noakes
I all ready have fear going to the dentist in the first place. I was schedule for August 30 2019 to have my teeth extraction Dr. Andrew was unable to preform the procedure due to a family matter so a Dr. Thomas Noakes filled in for him. He stated who was and the reason why he was their. He started to proceed with let me know that he would be numbing me as he numbing me it felt kind of wear like he was just sticking the needle wherever. So he continue to start extracting my teeth he did let me know that if I felt any pain to rise my hand every thing was going good so far he took a few minute break then started to proceed to what he doing. He had about six more teeth to pull so I rise my hand and he stated to the assist that he could not issue and more pain medicine he went to the front office and when he came back he stated to the assist that he had to pull the last 6 while he was pulling the teeth I was in a lot of pain when he was finish it was time to place the dentures my mouth was full of blood I was in pain he took the dentures and shovel them in my mouth I was unable to talk he just kept shoving them in my mouth I was finally able to push them back and they landed in my lap my paints go all bloody and then they fell on the I was about to *** on my self got to the restroom blood dripping out of my mouth I was finally given so glaze to help stop the bleeding I sat there with the assist she was amazed as well as the office this hole time I was being traumatize by this hole ordeal the assist set there with me just amazed by what happen I was given glaze to take home and a prescription for pain. This hole of ordeal still have me having panic attack nights are hard to sleep because all I can see how this person kept shoving these big teeth in my mouth went I was trying to stop him because of the pain I was having this just add more pain during this time I remember hitting my fist on the chair arm. I don't know what this doctor problem was but this was a devastated experience for me and I'm still having panic attack with this ordeal something need to be done I feel that I should compensate for this ordeal. I'm still going to Dr. Andrew for my dentures they apologize but still it not helping me with my anxiety. The assist was the hole ordeal I don't recall her name. My sister was there with me as well.

Terrible
Went there because they offerred financing and got sick of having a cavity on a front tooth that was noticeable and a back tooth causing a lot of pain. A quick bit of background...... I had never had any dental work done and always had exceptionally healthy teeth until I hit about 27.... over the course of about a year I got several facial cavities and a deep one in back that had broken through to the nerve. I found out a couple years later that this rapid decay was due to a hormonal imbalance, but at the time I was just really freaked out. Went to Aspen because they offered financing and I needed to deal with that bad tooth in the back quickly.... but was very clear when making the appointment that I was very nervous and had zero experience with dental work. My first visit was OK, they did xrays and an exam but I had to be very vocal about the fact that I had been fine with a quick annual cleaning my whole life and needed everything that was going to happen actually explained to me. They gave me as little information as they could and I was shocked at the number of cavities they found... 6 or 7! The doctor didn't even notice that back tooth, even though I jumped as soon as that metal scraper thing got near it. He told me he could fill it. I told him again how painful that one was and he looked again and tells me that he was wrong the first time, it needs a root canal and that they don't do that in their office.
So fast forward to the point where I am discussing the plan of treatment with the desk lady..... they give me an estimate of about $3400 for everything except the root canal but a big chunk of that payment was for work needed on that bad molar after the root canal. I thought it was expensive but I needed relief.... asked about financing and was asked a series of questions to see what I qualified for while she typed my responses into their system. I wasn't told there would be a credit check, but I assumed that was happening so that wasn't a huge deal for me. I get approved to cover the full amount plus an extra thousand dollars if needed with one year interest-free. Pretty standard deal and I understood the huge interest charge if not paid off in time since thats pretty common with other types of financing too.
Then they lay the biggie on me.... they just happen to have an appointment with the hygienist today for my annual required cleaning but I would need to pay a deposit and sign paperwork to start the finace contract that day and my payments would be due in 30 days. The furniture store I work at does this exact type of deal, where your interest free period starts as soon as you take your first item (in cases where some things are delayed or not delivered in one trip etc.). It's a *** deal, but not unique to this predatory financial lender. PLUS, I only need a few fillings so I am thinking this will take a few visits tops and I'll have plenty of time to pay it off.
I want to get it over with, so I agree and after my cleaning go back up to the desk to schedule the fillings only to be told for the first time that they cannot do the fillings until I get the root canal and they dont have any referral list.... she literally told me to Google endodontists and start calling.
After a few calls and some research, I find out root canals are really expensive (rememeber, I needed financing for everything else so I am not sitting on a large sum of cash or anything) and it would be at minimum a month until I could get an appointment to be seen. After a week or two, I accidentally bit down on that bad tooth and felt something pop and terrible pain. I call Aspen and asked about pulling it and explain what happened and that I couldn't wait. They say they have an opening and can see me now..... I am 40 minutes away, so I leave work and rush there and make my apointment for my fillings while I waited. They were "unusually busy" so it was two months out for the next appointment. OK, that sucks but then it'll be all done (or so I thought) and what else could I do? I asked how it would work with my loan, and she tells me since its a less expensive procedure a credit will go on my account to adjust the balance so I'll just have less to pay off but couldnt give exact figures until the doctor figures out what the new treatment plan will be... makes some sense.
They take me in. It was terrifying... no one explained anything or told me anything that was going to happen. They stick needles in my mouth and yank my molar out, grunting and groaning and whispering to each other etc. This may be normal, but they had to go in and dig around for bone fragments I guess, the whole time I am just terrified and anxious and smelling burning human tooth for the first time. After I am done, they tell me I can't eat or drink anything for several hours and shouldn't drink out of straws or smoke for awhile...etc. I wish they had told me this before I hurried over there at 6pm without eating dinner or having anything to drink before hand, but I just want to go home and I chalk it up to my own inexperienced and not asking questions beforehand. At least the pain will go away....
Next, I go for my filling appointment, excited as ever to leave that office minus the big black hole of a cavity that had since grown on my fang tooth (plus the others they found elsewhere). I ask about the credit and am told the amount (about $800) but that it would be kept until the plan was done to cover any unexpected expenses but that once the plan is complete any remaining credit will be aplied to my balance. OK, I am making 2 or 3 times more than my minimum payment every month at this point for some work that hasn't been completed and other work that I will never have done since that tooth was gone, but OK. Keep in mind I only have one year to have this paid off, but again OKAY, I can sort of understand their reasoning so I'll keep going...
An assistant seats me and goes over what we are doing today.... two fillings on one side in the back. I FLIP....according to their policies they can only do a max of 2 teeth per visit and they can only numb one area of the mouth in a visit so they must be relatively close together to even do two per visit. WHY WAS I NEVER TOLD THIS OR ASKED TO SCHEDULE FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS.... am I going to have to wait TWO MONTHS between each visit? I ask to schedule every appointment I will need to fill the cavities, I take the next available appointments and get it all planned to be completed over the next 2 months.
Every time I went back they found more cavities. I had cavities under the fillings. My front teeth started to turn brown in spots and I still have a ring of darker, gritty, stuff around a few of the fillings that no amount of brushing seems to help. Every time I floss, it catches on sharp edges from these shoddy fillings. I go a few more times and get the worst of them filled since I am now locked in to this financing.
Eventually I've had enough... I go in for what will be my last apointment and afterwards I tell the office/finance girl that I want my credit now and I want something in writing regarding what I am owed and what my current balance is after that days visit. I tell her I will never be back and am at a point where the credit will pay off my balance so it needs to be done right away. I am not proud of this, but I refused to leave until I had gotten phone numers to the corporate office and the finance company, copies of my contract, went over my care plan and asked to speak with someone above the person I was speaking to... whatever I could think of to be an inconvenience to them and let them know I wasn't going to let this go. I did have to make several calls and I kept meticulous notes of who I spoke with, in the end the credit posted on my next bill and I paid the balance off as quickly as possible.
WARNING, do NOT trust your mouth or your wallet with Aspen. I was VERY lucky to have an understanding of different types of financing and the ability to spend time dealing with this and the money to pay it off when I did. My fiance got fired about 4 months after I paid this loan off, so had the timing been even been a little bit different to where I couldnt make my payments or God forbid if I had missed a payment, I would have been really screwed in this whole sutuation. I have seen and heard so many horror stories since my experience with Aspen, so I know it could have been way worse. Not only are their business practices extremely shady, their medical care and patient care is overwhelmingly poor.
I continue to have cavities pop up and will have go through this all again when I can save up enough money and or find a dentist I feel confortable with. A year and a half later, I still regularly check my online account with Commenity bank to make sure they don't sneak any charges on my account. I would close it, but its actually helping my credit score; since it is an open line of credit, it factors in as if I have a $4500 credit card with $0 balance.
Sorry this is so long, but HOPEFULLY, my story can help someone else out there avoid the same frustration I dealt with.

Botched Extraction
Went in for an extraction pf my bottom left molar. They numbed it, but I could still feel everything with that tooth.
So they gave me more numbing medicine, and I could still feel intense pain. I heard a crack and a jolt of pain seared through my body and I nearly lept out of the chair. They stopped the procedure and scheduled me to have the tooth extracted under sedation in two weeks. I was in so much pain at this point, and no one seemed to care.
So I immediately went to have an emergency extraction at another place. Aspen dental is a large corporation with thousands of patients. They will do just fine financially without me and my familu as their patients, so it doesnt matter to them if they hurt me. They have a team of well funded lawyers to protect them from accountability, so its really not a suprise this happened to me.
But I just want to let everyone know Aspen Dental is horrible. If you are thinking of going there, you should absolutely reconsider.

Verified ReviewerDON'T ALLOW CROOKS INTO YOUR MOUTH
This is the first time I have ever been to the dentist and they want money upfront before anything is even done. They extracted two teeth in back of my mouth on the left with no problem and now, another one towards the back right side.
So far, no problems. After the exam of all my teeth, I was told that after what Medicare insurance and my dental discount would cover, I owe $3,400 for 3 teeth to be capped, one to be pulled for which they wanted to do a bridge or transplant and I said no to either one and told them to pull it instead. I know how much transplants and bridges cost. I later find out that with the work done above, I also have fillings all to the tune of over $10,000.
How in the world could I have SO much work to be done in my little mouth for that amount of money? I will find a dentist who will be more reliable than crooked.

LOL! "I would say they are great swindlers." That is the understatement of the year.
Aspen execs would steal from their own grandparents. As much as you hate to hear it, they have a point that they delivered some care, no matter how incompetently. Be happy with what you can get without hiring a lawyer.
My heartfelt prayer for you is that next time you will look for a dentist based on honesty and competence, which means excluding losers who work for *** claims like Aspen. Wall Street scoundrels owning chain dental clinics is a recipe for disaster for patients.
