This is an add on to the original review.
This is an add-on to the original review. I told the Dr.
several times that the dentures are too big for my mouth. The corners of my mouth crack open. He gave me a prescription for the problem. Nothing was done concerning the size of the dentures.
I still have the issue.
When I first had the teeth pulled and went in for a relined, I asked the hygienist about the white spots in the front of the top plate she said "you know you have to clean"!! I told her that I do clean them and I know she didn't believe me!!
That was okay because she didn't take care of me after that.
I am asking for a complete refund because I had to take out a loan in order to pay the out rageious bill. I will be paying the rest of my life for all of this.
- Promptness of appointment
- Took their time with me
- Poor customer service and poor workmanship with no guarantee
- Answering machine always full
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: My recommendation to future customers is find a different dental group to take of your teeth!!

Business Plan and overcharging
Aspen Dental is not a Dentist owned business. They are a Corporation that hires Dentists.
They have a business plan that operates around getting $450 cash from each client on their initial visit and using financing as a tool to keep customers. I went to my first AD in Texas and at my first, usually free cleaning, I was presented with an estimate of $450 which included an electric tooth brush, which I already owned, a bottle of $85 fluoride rinse, and other assorted items that brought the total up to that horrific total. I was on a very limited income being a disabled Veteran, and had to refuse all or most of it and never went there again. Until I went to Pace Dental in Florida.
They apparently had been acquired by AD and were not quite ready to tell people yet. My free cleaning was cancelled halfway through because the hygienist said I had swollen gums and needed a deep cleaning, which was going to cost... yes, $450. I didn't have the funds, so I made the appointment 2 months out.
Between that time, I was searching the internet to find their number, and it kept going to Aspen Dental's site. This led me to find out that had been acquired by them and what was going on. Their staff was surreptitiously creating more work and income. I cancelled the cleaning, and now I am looking for a new Dentist.
I would not recommend this company. They have questionable staff and Dentists.
User's recommendation: If you go to a new Dentist office, ask if they are a part of the Aspen Dental chain, If you don't already know by their name.
Dishonesty and medical malpractice
I would never recommend this place to anyone, I have never felt so frustrated and robbed. Three weeks ago I had an emergency due to a very strong pain in a tooth that extended through my jaw, my head and ear, when I looked online for an emergency dentist all I could find was Aspen dental, to all the numbers I called They redirected me to them, when I went to see them they told me that I had an infection in a root canal and that I had to wait the 10 days in order to see the specialist, they sent me home with out antibiotics or pain killers they only suggested me to take over the counter Tylenol , The made me pay $600 in order to see the specialist in advance that was going "to replace", I am Colombian and I have a trusted dentist in my country, when I called him and sent him the x-rays, he could not believe the medical negligence and he recommended that I should travel immediately so he could safe the teeth as soon as possible, unfortunately I had already pay the 600 in advance in the mis of my despair (I payed more than what a ticket to my country would cost) every day that passed was torture, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't work, I couldn't do anything at all and the medicine stopped working, I called them and their only recommendation was to increased the amount of Tylenol and take it every two hours, another medical negligence since taking that amount of Tylenol for ten days will damage the liver, so I went to see a different dentist to be able to get a prescription for antibiotics and pain killers in order to be able to control the infection and wait, The worst part was when the day to "solve the problem" arrived, when I went to see the endodontist, everything started from scratch as if I were a new patient and the guy had no idea of my emergency, due to lack of attention the infection had spread so much that it was no longer possible to change the root canal, they had to either remove my tooth or have and expensive surgery.
It felt like they didn't prescribed me any antibiotics in purpose in order to make me pay for a surgury with no mercy.
I was going to have to wait almost a month to receive any treatment, from the frustration I started crying and I guess that finally someone felt sorry for what I was going through and the endodontist was the only person that was honest and try to provided any help, he finally prescribed me some pain killers and strong antibiotics, he also try to contact someone who could make the surgery that had nothing to do with Aspen because apparently he is aware that they are mediocre and thieves, in the end I'm traveling to Colombia to get treated since here I could not get a specialist, with those 600 dollars that I paid for a terrible service I would have paid my ticket and part of the treatment in my country and avoid all the frustration and the pain I had to go through. I wish they were honest from the start, not wasting my time or putting up with so much pain for so long

Verified Reviewer | Venice, FloridaOvercharged and outraged
I visited Aspen Dental Bradenton FL office on 11/12/2021. The purpose of my visit was to get the root canal work done urgently.
They didn't mention their lack of availability in the near future, but scheduled me for a consultation first.
When I was well in my way to Bradenton (30 miles away from home), they called me to say my visit needs to be canceled. I said it was too late for that, and I was coming anyway.
The Endodontist Dr Blanco was acting quite professional, and checked out my problem prescribing the antibiotic. They took an x-ray of the problem tooth (even though I had an X-Ray with me done the day before by my General dentist.
Apparently, they performed an expensive test called Pulp Vitality test that was not covered by my dental insurance. Instead of notifying me of that and asking if I want to have it done anyway (out of pocket), they just went ahead and did it.
They charged me $67 for a consult that lasted less than 15 minutes, never mentioning that its an estimated cost and there could be more bills forthcoming.
When I tried to schedule an appointment in the near future (as I said I needed from the beginning), they couldn't find anything within a 100 miles radius, within a month time.
So, I had to look for another Endodontist office and wasted $67 and my time and gasoline for absolutely nothing.
More than a month later I get a bill for $29 remaining on my balance.
I called them and tried to argue my case, they were absolutely unwilling to wave the extra amount charged. When my insurance company called them to advocate my position, they just repeated their 'estimate' argument and said nothing further.
I feel their treatment was unethical at best, and I need to forewarn their future customers of that.
Very disappointed,

Misled about my charges
I was told by the people that work in their office that after reviewing my dental plan that I will owe 0 and all the work is covered at 100%. I explained ahead of time that I will come back in January to have the work done because my insurance pays each year a certain amount for dental work but the woman insisted that my insurance pays at 100% so no need to wait so I had the work done in November and then I look at my account and it says I owe more than $500.00.
I have Medicare Advantage Plan with dental and the woman that told me my work on my teeth is 100% covered knew how much my plan pays and or paid for the year and I trusted she knew what she was talking about but I now have a bill which I never would have gotten if she gave me the correct information and now they want me to pay for their mistake and I feel because I am older that they think they can just say what they want and older people will just pay in the end with no questions asked and to me that is elder abuse. I am appalled that I trusted this company and now they want me to pay for their mistake. Please NEVER trust anything these people say about the insurance. They do not seem to be trained properly in the finance department.
If they were trained properly they would have known to give the customer a printout of what they will pay and what the insurance will pay also they need to let the customer know what the bill will be for out of pocket expense.
How do they know if a person can pay that amount or what if the customer does not have any money to pay outside of what their insurance will pay? This is the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with.
User's recommendation: do not choose Aspen Dental for your dental needs

Verified Reviewer | Crestwood, IllinoisVery poor service
Too many issues to list. I am convinced that whoever took my impressions was impaired or they used the wrong impressions all together.
My bottom them are too big and do not fit in my mouth. They never have. Even with all the swelling after extractions the bottom denture was loose and flopping around in my mouth. They provided so many excuses and misleading information.
A dentist has not checked my mouth once when they were making adjustments. How can you adjust anything without even looking to see where the adjustments need to be made. One of my friends is a dentist in another state and even he said that what they were doing is wrong. He gave me several associations to contact regarding all that has happened.
All I can say is do not even think about going there. You will be extremely disappointed.
The office manager made all kinds of promises to me and he wouldn't even come to talk to me at this last appointment where I was informed that those things were not going to happen. They keep asking me for the balance on my account and I keep telling them that they will get it when my teeth fit.
- Dentist that did my extractions was awesome
- Teeth will only stay in for a short period of time
- Bait and switch method
- Quality of product
