Maybe they will offer a discount if you go back for more treatment that will be wrong or you probably don't need. It's all about the money with Aspen.

Patient care? Maybe if you pay in full and in advance. Is your doctor right out of school and in over his/her head? Did the doctor run their practice in the ground and now coming to Aspen to write high dollar treatment plans?

Dental assistants with very little training, no degree just a certificate.

Office Managers that are trained to go for the money. No thanks.

Aspen Dental Bourbonnais DR NADIA CHOWHAN

The worst. Drilled the wrong tooth which was pointed out to her by the ASSISTANT. No choice then, but to fill a perfectly healthy tooth. THEN this piece of *** dentist had the nerve to charge my insurance for TWO fillings saying both were bad. When asked to prove this with x-rays they changed the billing to one tooth. My insurance company said they are being investigated for INSURANCE FRAUD. This Nadia Chowhan seemed to enjoy torturing her patients. Maybe that what she learned in the mid-east where she was taught to injur Americans one at a time.

Aspen Dental-West Springfield Ma.

I went to West Springfield Aspen Dental Services

I went for a lower partial to replace some teeth I had lost in an accident.

The dentist told me i needed things done that I did not need such as a gum scaling and then he effectively called me a liar. When I stated that I had my uppers done about 3 years previously I did not need new upper teeth. He stated I did!

Now i ask is this the way they give their patients the warm fuzzies? NO!

I had major dental work done preparing for my lower teeth, it was done by a very well known Oral surgeon(in our area).

I had a similar experience. They told me that I needed a deep scaling and I will have to pay about $900 in addition to what my insurance will be paying.

I ended up going to another chain dental office in the area. They determined that I only needed partial deep scaling and I ended up paying $75.

I went to Aspen Dental in West Springfield MA and they told me I needed all this unnecessary work done...to the tune of $3,400.00!!! I went there in an emergency for a crack wisdom tooth that needed to be pulled.

Instead I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman!! They did not pull the tooth - instead they gave me a laundry list of procedures I needed (including a partial because of loosing my wisdom tooth) and rescheduled me 5 days later!

ASPEN DENtAL FREAkING JOkERS PART 2

Yesterday I posted Aspen Dental Freaking Jokers.....well heres what today brought.....Aspen Dental called me to go over my treatment plan and what was and wasnt going to be covered by insurance...So I went on to say that it was alot of money and I would be having a second opinion. SO I called my old Dentist and told them what aspen dental said...the girl that answered the phone told me she used to work for them and quit because they lied to everyone and were forced to upsell to people that THEY HAVE A FREAKING GUM DISEASE!!! That is HORRID!! So I called aspen and said my dentist wants my xrays.....they got soo mad told me their printer was broke and I had to wait until next week to get them.....Y??? That makes no sense...so my dentist told me when I was there in april they seen no problems except a tooth I need fixed and bonding on my one tooth and a cavity...You know normal dental work that is ok it needs done but a 5k treatment plan for work I dont need.....Please do not go to ASPEN DENTAL...they will suck you dry and give you not only periodontal disease but a 5k treatment plan

Aspen Dental

My experience with Aspen Dental started in May, 2010,I went in to get front tooth fix and they offer a exam no charge. I got the exam done the the dentist sat down and explain that in needed two teeth fix so they quoted me a price.I had to give $1400.00 before they started the procedure,I gave it to them then the dentist told me i needed three teeth done particual after that four so i told the manager i wanted my money back, because i didnt feel comfortable with dentist. She told me to come in and talk to him so i did they explain to me that he didn't mean to make me feel uncomfortable and he new what he was doing. My first day they took a mold of mouth then, next appointment i told him i wanted my gold then he proceeded to tell me that he was not pulling my teeth so i didnt need particual he was goin to save my teeth and give me crowns an that sound better i could keep my teeth. But,after the root canal i didn't feel comfortable and i explain that to the manager, it took him almost 4 hour and i new something wasn't right.Next visit,i had different dentist,he was so agggressive doing the procedure he cut my gums higher on the two teeth that i was having done.I was in so much pain in didn't understand why,I was in so much pain again so i was scared to go back. Then when he was working on my mouth another patience was complaining about waiting so long he then said he needs to go home if couldn't wait and i thought that was unprofessional. Then a few days later the manager call me because i missed my appointment and i explain to her why again, she assured me i wouldn't have anymore problems and that she had fired him.So i went back in for my final visit to put my crowns in they were larger, thicker and whiter then my other teeth it just a mess everyone in the office new that they was poorly done the third dentist couldn't believe that the teeth and my gums where very uneven i jus cried and left. Then i call and told the manger i wanted my money back and i shouldn't have to pay them anymore money because they have took me though so much. The manager she was going to have a meeting with corporate and she was goin to explain to them what happen to me she never call me back. Then i call her the secertary answer ask me who was calling i told her my name i held hold, she came back and said that she was on the other line she will give me a call back in a few minutes she never did. So,I went in to the office an hour later and spoke to her and she explain to me that she never had the meeting and she had just fax the my paper work and i ask her about giving me my money back and they still owed me money back because the procedure they didn't cost what they originally quote me again she'll get back with me.The next week she call and said to come in so they could take pictures so a dentist in New York could take a look at them i didnt understand but i went in anyway. The day went the third dentist took pictures with his camera phone i was shocked after this i said no more this the worst experience i have ever been in and have reported them to BBB and i havent heard back from Aspen Dental and they are still billing me.Do not trust Aspen Dental they are not professional and ripe off dentist are not qualify and they need to be shutdown!

Ruined my mouth...

I called needing an appt bc I had a problem with a molar that bothered me very much. Came into the office and had about 16 xrays taken, Dr. Chadka came in for a total of 10mins, asked what bothered me. After I explained to him exactly what hurt and showed him, he looked at the xray and said I needed a root canal on it (never checked the tooth), also needed 3 cavities and scaling done. After the office visit, he took me to the office manager to go over financing, their office wanted to charge me $1,895 for scaling, $355 for 3 silver fillings, and $1,800 for root canal and crown, bc my job does not offer dental insurance I found myself paying out of pocket and could not afford this. I opted to have the tooth removed due to cost (I should have gone somewhere else before it was too late) Next day, I scheduled the extraction and went in feeling horrible bc I had to remove a tooth due to cost. Sat down and Dr. Chadka came in and asked me whether I was sure or not, I specifically said "yes, bc I can't afford to fix it and it's a *back* molar and no one will see it" so he continued to pull the tooth. In the car, I realize the gauze is not in the right spot and he pulled a tooth that was not bothering me but rather 2 teeth in front of it. I went back in and demanded to speak with him. I told him that he pulled a tooth that was not bothering me and the one that is bothering me he did not fix. You would think as a professional with so much schooling he would have better bedside manners especially with someone who he just did work on and was not pleased, he continued to say that that was the tooth that needed a root canal (when actually the previous day he did not make mention of this tooth at all, only the one that *I* pointed out to *him*). I did not ask him to fix this tooth but rather the one that bothered me. I left crying hysterically bc now I have a tooth missing (somewhere that I was not shown) and can not do anything about and a tooth that still hurts me terribly. They truly DO NOT care about the patients that come in, they ARE only interested in the financial aspect of it and getting you to finance through their office, they DO over charge for services that you need (or may not need)... Needless to say, I did find a place that did a second opinion and they state that I did not need scaling on all my teeth (and even if I did the pricing is ridiculous), the root canal is questionable (being looked into by a specialist bc I did have the copies of my xrays), and they only found me to be needing 1 filling... I am letting every site that I can possibly let know about this scandal and joke of a dental office, I am writing a letter to the BBB regarding this and depending on what the specialist says I will be looking into further legal options. Please take this advice and do not go to Aspen Dental, had I checked before going I would have known better!

Poor Work Ethics

I recently visited the Aspen Dental In Bourbonnais IL. I waited in the waiting room for a very long period of time. I was shocked at how there seemed to be very little work going on in the front portion of the office. The receptionist and some other office member were sitting around up front talking and painting their nails, I thought I was supposed to be In a dentist office not a nail salon! When I asked how much longer it would be till I would be seen for my appointment the receptionist could not give me a firm answer. Just said it should not be too much longer! I was not happy with the office service at all but was happy with the work of the dental staff in back that was actually working on me. I probably wont be returning to Aspen Dental!

the front desk cannot give a firm answer on how long the wait time will be. if they tell them 10 minutes and it passes by, patients get aggravated and blame it on the front desk.

and the receptionist cannot interrupt the dentist during a procedure.

would u find it very professional if the dentist were to stop working on you to answer a dumb question like that? the dentist likes to give each patient the time he/she deserves

Guest

I had the same issue. E initial exam took three hours, 15 minutes for the actual exam and X-rays and the rest of the time waiting for the dentist or office manager. I cancelled everything the next day and saw a real dentist.

Heartless Dentists at Aspen Dental

I went to Aspen dental for a new patient exam and because I was in excruciating pain with a few abscesses..when I left I had a 7000 dollar treatment plan, and things were on there that I didn't need..when I called back for a refill on my pain medication and they said they already gave me one scoot and would not give me another .the other part of this story is that my mom passed away and I was heading to California for her funeral and burial, it didn't matter all they said was to go to a dentist out there..one I have one doctor and want one dentist. I do not go from dentist to Dentist..do not go to Aspen Dental in Plattsburgh NY or Rotterdam NY because the same dentist works at both places!!!

How does this company have an A+ BBB rating?

I am posting everywhere I can, people need to be warned about what is going on here. I thought I had done research before I went in, I knew someone who went and checked their BBB rating (how is it A+?). I expected that I would need work, not having been to the dentist in several years and it was *** in one of my back teeth that finally drove me to it (general fear of dentistry kept me away, nearly every time I go I need a filling). While I found the office staff generally very friendly, that's about the only nice thing I can say. After an extensive series of x-rays I was seated in an office where the dentist came and spent less than 1 minute looking at my teeth, perhaps 2 minutes on my x-rays, and then told me I needed 4 fillings on the top, one crown on the bottom and an extraction of my widsom tooth (the one with the hole). I was then escorted to the "office manager" to discuss payment. This I felt was their main goal. It was explained what my insurance would cover (not much) and how much I would need to finance and my options. I became very uncomfortable and left. Nearly $2000 was their bill. I sought out a second opinion, asking a trusted friend for the name of their dentist, and got quite a shock. First, in how amazing a really good dentist is, the amount of time she spent and how comfortable she made me feel. And second in her assesment of what I actually needed, 1 filling (the tooth they said needed a crown - which had since chipped) and the extraction of the wisdom tooth. What about the 4 fillings on the top? Only one area is an area to watch, and she advised that with brushing and flossing it could be OK, none needed to be filled. I found the whole expierence with Aspen to be unnerving and unsetteling. How they have that kind of rating is unbelievable to me. People need to complain to the BBB as well as posting on here, I plan to. And tell your friends and family, these people need to be put out of business.

I have some concerns about Aspen Myself the emergency number to call is non working. my Tooth literally BROKE 3 weeks after they filled it.

The dentist spent all of 20 seconds with me after basing his entire diagnosis on xrays before he saw me. I worry that they knew I needed a crown and simply did the filling to collect more money from the insurance company and myself.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience - but appreciate you sharing.

Please know that Aspen Dental doctors are focused on providing comprehensive care, which means that they not only want to address any immediate problems that may cause pain or discomfort in the short-term, but also recommend dental treatment for long-lasting good health.

it is not uncommon for two (or three) dental care professionals to look at the same patient and offer different treatment recommendations. This does not mean that one professional is right and the other is wrong, rather it is a reflection of what each dentist believes is the best course of treatment for that particular patient

Would you be willing to talk in greater detail to our Patient Satisfaction team to see whether they can help address your specific concerns? This team of specialists is based at our Practice Support Center in Syracuse and is trained to help resolve these types of issues.

They can be reached at 1-86*-***-**** or patientservices@***.com.

Thanks,

Allie

Aspen Dental is a complete rip off!!

Aspen Dental, didnt have a problem taking my $2200.00 yet has a problem standing behind their services. The Dentist ignored me when I insisted there was a problem and I was in pain, unable to talk and they let me walk out gagging, insisting there was not a problem with my partial, I would need to get use to it..... Seriously????? I went there with the guarantee that they would make a new upper and lower that would be so much better than what I started with. I couldn't have been lied to any more than I was. For anyone else who has a problem with Aspen Dental, my advice is DON'T be nice. Demand what you want and expect and stick with it. If they can't fix the problem to your satisfaction, DEMAND your money back as I did.

You should invest your money on "Hooked on Phonics". I guess they don't teach you how to spell and puncuate in the sticks.

If you did'nt drop out of the 4th grade, you could have learned how to brush and floss. Buy a tube of denture adhesive and take care of the teeth you have left.

BEWARE!!THEY ARE LEGAL CRIMINALS!

They maximize your out of pocket and insurance benefits! The majority of there staff has no dental experience or knowledge including there office managers. They hire people with sales experience not dental!! That should tell all!! Most of there dentist are fresh out of school! They get you in on advertising schemes and rack up huge treatment plans make you pay in full before treatment is even started and then make no attempt to get the treatment completed. They call you so much to confirm your 1st appointment you feel like you have a stalker then forget you exist. BEWARE THERE'S ONE COMING SOON TO A TOWN NEAR YOU!!

This is so completely true! They do hire dentists straight out of school to keep the cost down.

The graduating students think the pay is great until they start working there.

Also, the front desk workers DO NOT have dental experience and are clueless!!! This is very well said and true!

Liars

I interviewed for a patient service rep position, that stated on the job advertisement no travel. However, I went into the interview and interviewed for an assistant manager position, and they told me I would need to travel around to different offices?! It was just a very shady experience, and all the while patients were screaming at the front desk about being ripped off. I got the impression that this company only cares about taking advantage of the client, and does not have their best interest. This is not a place I would work at or visit if I needed dental work. STAY AWAY!

I worked for Aspen. The company is terrible and wants to take advantage of people that haven't been to the dentist is a long time. Yes, some people need a lot of dental work but most don't need everything that is written for them.

I was lied to about the cost. Office mgr quoted a price and the oral surgeon quoted a higher price for the implants.

$100 difference.

:?

It sounds like the people defending Aspen maybe the people that work there. A little advice try working on your customer service skills in the time you spend looking for bad reviews. Then you may not have to worry about the bad reviews.

Guest

So everyone that works there is a liar? Just because someone told you that you would have to travel....

wow. This is the problem with these websites.....work in a corporate dental office for a while and you will see that the people screaming at the front desk are the ones who hadn't been to a dental office in 10 years and now want the world on a silver platter

This company should lose their license.

Last September Apsen Deltal in Raynham,Ma. extracted all of my teeth and put temporary dentures in. I was told that I would have to wait six months until my gums healed before I could get my new set of dentures., and that they would fit perfectly. In March, after six months with horrible fitting temporary dentures and many visits back to the dentist, I finally went for my new impressions and a week later my new dentures were in. As soon as the dentist put them in my mouth, I could feel that the bottoms were extremely loose. He told me at that time that there was nothing he could do. I would have to use an adhesive or have posts screwed into my jaw bone which the bottom dentures would clip on to. I told him absolutely not. I had just borrowed $5000.00 to pay for getting my teeth pulled and having new dentures made. I left there very disappointed, but telling myself that maybe I just had to get use to them. I began noticing that I was not able to eat without both sets of dentures moving which could be painful at times. My uppers seemed to be too loose also. I just went back to Aspen this week and told the Dr. that I was very dissatisfied. He told me that because of the way my bones are shaped on the upper jaw that I would have to have surgery to remove part of the bones and then my dentures would fit properly. Are you kidding me !!! Isn't that why they take impressions? They actually slip when I talk and it is extremely embarrassing. I cannot even *** into a very ripe necterine, sandwich, or any soft food without my teeth coming out. I have to be so careful. To say that I am devastated is an understatement. I left there by telling him that going to Aspen Dental was the biggest mistake of my life. Susan

Aspen Dental Tipped Hand to Improper Billing Practices

I just thought I'd let you all know that adding your experiences is very helpful to other people. I have an issue for which I need dental care. Contacted my dental insurance for local preferred providers, and they only listed two--one being Aspen Dental. I'm leery of any medical business that pushes discount services in huge expensive TV/print ads, but I'm in a relatively rural area and choices are limited. I called to make my appointment. I told them I was in pain and wanted to have the tooth fixed. I was told I could not be seen for three days, and the appointment would be for a free exam and x-rays, and they would determine then when I should come back for treatment. They then asked for my insurance information, and then asked for my and my spouse's social security numbers. I told them I did not use my SSN for medical purposes, and was immediately put on hold. After waiting for five minutes, I was told that they could not accept my dental insurance without social security numbers. I informed this lady that I never had any trouble having my claims submitted without a SSN; she said they did, and I needed to provide a credit card number to guarantee payment of services--right there over the phone. I told her that I needed to consult my dental provider. I called the dental insurance company, and was told they *never* required social security numbers on claim forms or to pay out benefits. While on the phone I found this site and others confirming what I thought about a business that invested so much money in TV/print ads for cheap dental services. Needless to say, I called Aspen Dental back and canceled the appointment. When asked why, I told the same lady that the dental insurance confirmed they did not need the SSN, and I certainly was not going to provide them with access to my credit card when 1)insurance would cover treatment and 2)no service was performed as yet; and it was apparent Aspen Dental engaged in fraudulent billing practices, and that I lodged a complaint with the dental insurance company. The receptionist promptly hung up on me. :-)
