let me start by saying the dentist did what he should do but i took the care loan for white fillings and recieved the metal ones in which they charge me 132 per tooth i was looking foward to the white fillings but very distraught when i found there was no intention for them to be put in only billing purposes and when i called to talk it seemed like i was dealt with hostilely before i even explained what was going on if they want to over bill they tell you the price of one thing then put in a cheaper version i did not disagree with the dentist but how do you price work to be done after its done if i looked around before i made my decision only to be surprised .

***! ***! ***!
i went to aspen dental in saginaw michigan. i was 10 years over-do on replacing my old dentures. the lady doctor did nothing but *** and belittle me during the whole exam time.i didn't go there to hear that or get lectured..i left. some time went by ,and i was reconsidering giving them another chance until i got on their website and read all the complaints. after reading most of the complaints , i saw the light and am glad i didn't return.i will be seeing a regular dentist now, and not a chain office..

Aspen Dental is a Fraud
I have a new insurance policy and needed to find a new dentist. I tried Aspen because they were he first on the list and could get me in quick as my filling had fallen out. So after the X-rays in which the women cut my mouth in three places I saw a hygienist who did the number thing calling out all 2s and 3s. Then the doctor comes in to say my tooth needs capped and I have eight cavities. I am then taken to the office manager who writes up a bill for $3500 after my insurance. He said I had 5s and 6s needing a cleaning not covered by my insurance . He worked hard to scare me and I said I was going to take the treatment plan to another doctor for a second opinion could I please have a copy. He turned the screen from me made some changes and handed me a plan that was now $1500 over my insurance. As I was scanning the plan I expressed that I just wanted the cleaning covered by my insurance today. He stated that my teeth were in horrible shape and I needed to do the work before they would clean. I went to another dentist office who was awesome they cleaned my teeth, fixed the cavity that fell out and said I only have two cavities! Even having to pay for a second exam all of my dental work was done for $325. When I went to Aspen to pick up my X-rays, they made me wait thirty minutes, they made me pay thirty dollars and the office manager kept coming out and staring me down like a play ground bully. This was honestly one of the most bizarre experiences i have ever had!

Canceled my root canal for no reason.
I was scheduled for a root canal today at 4:30 at the Glendale, Az. office. I was on time and making my $510 payment when the dentist came out and canceled my appointment at 4:40. I had been taking the antibiotic as he had ordered and got out of work as well as traveled about 45 minutes from work to be there. He offered no reason for the cancel to me or the lady that was taking my payment. To say I'm a pissed off patient is an understatement. I will never return to any aspen office and will complain to my insurance company as well as any other outlet that I can find. This was the most unprofessional act I had been witness too. As an RN for 15 years I would never turn a patient away that was on time on meds and that had already paid. Poor poor patient care. I will find another dentist and in this economy I'm sure I will be treated better.

The dentist was insensitive and rude.
The dentist was rude and unprofessional. He spoke down to me and said there was nothing he could do for me. I was totally embarrased! The commercials on the tv showing happy patients with big smiles and how happy they were with Apsen dental caring and professionalism fooled me into go to Aspen. I had been hesitate on seeing a dentist after 7 years but again the tv commercials and newspaper ads i seen gave me the courage to go with th feeling I was going to be treated with respect. Oh , was I wrong! It was one of the most embarrasing times of my life. I would never go back there and urge anyone else not to go either. Its like going to the dollar store for dental services!

Went to Aspen clinic in Fort Myers, Fl... I had an infection in the gum and I needed it looked at... From the time I walked in, it was the hard sale...I had an 8 A.M appointment...When I walked in, apparently there were 5 others who also had 8:00 appointments...Kinda strange, considering that there was only 1 dr on...It took me almost an hour before they started with me... The tech took pictures and sat me down in an exam room...I know that there's a lot of bone loss, and that dentures or partials are needed, but I was there for an infection... From the jump, the tech was pushing some oral cancer test for $100.00...She said that I would have to sign a waiver stating that I refused it, if I decided to go that way...I took it, figuring that it must have been important... The tech started talking about me getting dentures...I inquired about partials, and the tech, the non medically trained tech, told me that doc will want full dentures for me... Now, my regular dentist told me that even one tooth would hold partials in place better than no teeth, right? So doc walks in, looks at x-rays, and starts selling me on full dentures... I have a certain situation at work...I'm out of sick and personal days, and if I *** even once between now and the end of the year, I will get a final writeup and lose my job...I made this abundntly clear to the tech as well as the doc...I was thinking of dentures, but wanted to wait till the first of the year, so I could take a week or two off to let the healing happen...They didn't really address my concerns, instead put me into financing where the best dentures were pushed on me...I went for them and I was told that I could go... Now through all of this, the doc never once looked at the infected gum! So, before leaving, I asked to see the doc again...She walked in, gave me prescriptions for an antibiotic and something for pain...They had scheduled me for the following Saturday, (today), to extract all teeth and to put in the dentures... All week, I was worried about the time off thing...I talk on the phone all day, and if I can't perform, I'll need to *** work, and ultimately lose my job... So I walk in today, and when doc comes in, I tell her I need to discuss some things...I start to remind her about my fears about being able to go to work on Monday...While I was talking to her, she walked out of the room to get some things for the surgery...Just ignores what I'm saying and leaves! When she comes back in, I tell her I need to finish what I was saying before we begin...I asked her if we do this now, will I be able to work on Monday...She refused to commit to an answer, saying that she can't or won't guarantee that....Finally she said that if I took it easy on Sat/Sun, that I should probably be able to work on Monday, but again, no guarantees... I started to remind her of my job situation, and she stops me in mid sentence and says, and I quote, "Look, do you want to do this or not?"... Great bedside manner here... I walked out...I know what's to follow...I'll be billed for everything...I'll have to fight this with my insurance...I'll be calling my attorney Monday morning to give him a heads up... To come in for treatment on an infection which was never looked at, to be treated so rude by a supposed "professional", puts up WAY too many red flags here... I'll wait till January...I'll wait to find a doctor who will take the time to answer my questions and fears without the rudeness and attitude... I wish I had taken a moment to look up Aspen Dental online before going for first appointment...If I had, they never would have been an option... M

Overwhelming Response to Class Action Lawsuit Against Aspen Dental
Within the first 3 days of posting the notice alerting consumers about the formation of a class action lawsuit against Aspen Dental, there has been an overwhelming response from angry patients wishing to participate in this action. To answer the question posed by many frustrated patients – YES, Aspen has designed its patient service department to effectively diffuse your isolated complaints; this is why you will never successfully receive any justice from Aspen Dental when presented as an individual complaint. But, Aspen cannot evade and will be held accountable to the thousands of angry patients who are collectively unified under this large and comprehensive Class Action Lawsuit. With the high volume of feedback and interest in participating in this Class Action Lawsuit, we are requesting that in your email you identify your complaint as being in one of the three following categories: 1.DENTAL MALPRACTICE – In which you have been physically injured by their dental "care." 2.CONSUMER FRAUD – Includes cases in which office personnel of Aspen Dental used high pressure sales tactics designed to take your money with false promises of providing competent dental health care. 3.Combination of Malpractice and Consumer Fraud. To respond to one of the most frequently asked questions: Yes, you can remain anonymous! When you email the description of your complaint for inclusion in this action, simply request that we assign you a confidential identity. As a new patient, a reasonable person would not expect Aspen Dental to take unfair advantage of a dental problem – after all, they are considered to be a healthcare facility; however, when you sit down with the Office Manager to discuss your dental treatment plan it becomes clear that your money, not your health, is Aspen's primary objective. The job of the Aspen office manager is to force you into accepting the most costly and extensive dental work possible. This is termed "conversion" and is against the law. To respond to another frequently asked question - Yes, Aspen Dental rewards its employees with financial bonus incentives for exceeding monthly production goals. This bonus system is based upon Aspen's internal use of "metrics" which pressures each office to compete against other Aspen offices. Unfortunately, since Aspen's Management Team is composed of individuals whose background is in "consumer retail" – not in healthcare - they operate the dental care facility as a retail business in which you are not viewed as a patient - instead, you are simply a paying customer. Aspen Dental's motto is: "To create a happy, paying patient." But, unfortunately once you pay, you quickly discover that you are not happy. This Class Action Lawsuit will effectively make Aspen Dental accountable for their acts through the unified and coherent voice of thousands of patients who have been wrongfully injured by Aspen Dental. This Class Action Lawsuit will channel thousands of patient complaints into a collectively powerful force which will finally stop Aspen. Your participation in this Class Action Lawsuit will not cost you any money - the legal services are free to you. And, you may be entitled to receive money as compensation for your loss and suffering. To participate, please direct your questions and interest to Ted Bleckstein, DDS, MS at: Dr.Bleckstein@***.com

How a dental office inconvenices its new patients.
I made an appointment last week with aspen dental when I get there they tell that they could not do my exam. Their excuse the main dentist called in sick and they didn't get a replacement until around noon. They asked if I could reschedule for monday January 30, at 2:00 pm, I agreed but when went in today I was about 20 minuted late. I was again told they couldn't fit me in because of being late. Now I think I did them a favor by rescheduling. I think favors go two ways they could have took into consideration my rescheduling and tried to work with me.

RUINED MY CROWN
SO after 4 weeks, 3 appointments all I needed was for Aspen Dental to re-cement a crown that was in awesome shape back in place since the CVS temp stuff doesn't last. I finally get in after being jerked around 2 other visits and they screwed it up so badly that it is now uncertain how it will be fixed or now be so messed up oral surgery might be needed. It was such a simple fix, omfg I could have done it MYSELF if they handed me the cement and they screwed it up, had to grind off part of the $2000 crown and RUINED it so, now I have to go to another office to find out what can be done to save something of it!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! Time to drink I think!!!

Sick of the Politics in Medical Treatment
I have a broken, abcess tooth called my local Aspen Dental, Florence,SC. to see if they took walk-in emergencies. YES we do but...OMGoodness, I was given every opportunity in 30sec. but to walk in. I was told that if I walked in without a appt. I take the chance of not being seen at all~ Then after listening to someone that sounded like she was reading from a skit sheet, I was asked to hold while she talked to the dentist. After about 3-4 min. she comes back and tells me that they can see me in FEBRUARY 2012 but she is sorry I am in so much pain! (But I was just told that they take walk-ins and emergency patients) Seriously, If there is one thing in this world that stands true next to GOD's word...WE CAN'T FIX ***! Aspe Dental, You just lost out on a potentially great customer $$$ as I not only need other dental work done my husband is planning on dentures the first part of the year (hey, wait a minute-He can get in during the month of February-lol) and I am sure that would have cost him a little $$$ regardless of who and when he is seen! Happy New Year Aspen Dental, I will be sure to spread the word in Florence, SC.

Aspen Dental is a Joke
I think I have had more appointments cancelled than I have had actual appointments. Its disappointing considering HOW much I am paying for dental work!! They seem to use the lamest excuses. My first appointment was scheduled online, they called to confirm the appointment, when I arrived, that day, they said it had been cancelled. I didnt do it. They said that they could squeeze me in but it might take a while. The xrays were ridiculously uncomfortable. I really like the doctor I have and my nurse was nice but their scheduling and management is horrible, I honestly dont thing I will return in the future.
