Find a dentist that care about YOU.

Please pay very close attention to how they are trying to fleece you and your insurance company. They have billed me for services that my insurance company covered. They have sent me bill before submitting it to my insurance(likely in hopes i would pay it, and then they could also collect for my insurance). They are one of my "in network" providers, they just tried to charge me $336.00, for a cleaning, and that was after my insurance was billed. With my insurance, my cleanings are free. their only concern is money. It is more like a visit to a used car lot, than to a dentist's office. Make sure none of your grandparents are being had by these fools.

Simply UNPROFESSIONAL! !!!!

Spoke with 'Kerry' from the airport rd office in Allentown, pa regarding the way they submitted my claim to my ins. Filling out my patients info.form i specifically wrote my primary AND secondary insurance. After a couple weeks after my initial consultation i received a letter in the mail stating the way they submitted my claims was wrong! I called the office and spoke with HOLLY' an also emailed her a copy of the letters I've received. She resubmitted an told me to call back in two weeks.. after waiting three weeks i call back, just to be told by this beast about how things is done t that office and also her uninform an insulting answers to my questions an also hanging up the phone when she could not answer my question.

Do not go there!!! they lie...

i was having a problem with a broken tooth and in a lot of pain, so I went for "free exam and xrays" at the visit i was told i needed over $12,000 worth of dental work...no mention of and not including fixing the broken tooth....the reason i went there! i just got a bill for the "free exam" for $183.00 i went to another REAL dentist for a second opinion, i do not need most of of work they said i did, and the work i needed done was a few hundred dollars at most. the treatment plan i was given was 3x the cost of another dentist, and again, i was told i needed extensive work that i do not.

Dentures

Do not go to this place. I went back in Sept 2012 the doctor did not respect my wishes and it ended up causing me to go into a severe panic attack. I have had issues since and it is almost a year later and I fear even leaving my home it has taken a lot out of me to complete the procedure. Now I go to the final fitting the teeth are in correct lining and the suction is there. The final product comes in they do not fit correctly, teeth off center, no suction and they no longer have the molds they took from the fitting. So I will have to go through this again..Really? I am trying to find a lawyer..I have missed a year of work, lost out on family time and holidays, can't visit with friends which I have lost all of now, lost 12 lbs and I wasn't big to start with..very sad I have lost everything and the main company won't even respond to any emails I have sent through this process which have been a lot. They care about the dollar not their patients..

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE!

I MADE TWO APPOINTMENTS. ONE FOR ME, AND ONE FOR MY HUSBAND. BOTH FOR A ROUTINE 6 MONTH CHECK UP; XRAYS & CLEANING. WHEN WE SHOW UP, THE GIRL BEHIND THE COUNTER NEVER MADE EYE CONTACT WITH EITHER ONE OF US. BOTH OF US WENT BACK FOR XRAYS, AS WE BOTH SAT IN AJOINING CHAIRS-MY HUSBAND BEGAN TELLING THE HYGENIST THAT HE HAD PREVIOUS EXTENSIVE DENTAL WORK DONE TO THE UPPER TEETH, HE ADVISED THAT HE HAD THREE BRIDGES IN PLACE AND THE DENTIST AND ENDONTIST THAT HAD PREFORMED INSTALLED THESE BRIDGES TOLD HIM TO TELL ANY OTHER DENTIST TO BE VERY CAREFUL WITH ONE OF THE MOLARS IN THE BACK THAT ONE OF THE BRIDGES WERE ATTACHED TO. IT IS NOT IN PERFECT CONDITION-AND A LITTLE SENSITIVE WHEN PROBED-BUT WOULD BE FINE TO ATTACH A BRIDGE TO-AND WOULD LAST ABOUT 5 YEARS, MAYBE LONGER. MY HUSBAND ASKED THE HYGENIST TO TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM THAT MOLAR...BIG MISTAKE!!! SOME WOMAN THAT DID'T EVEN INTRODUCE HER SELF, BUT APPEARED TO BE SOME KIND OF OFFICE MANAGER TOLD HIM THAT HE NEEDED TO GET UP OUT OF THE CHAIR AND LEAVE IF HE WAS'T GOING TO ALLOW A FULL EVALUATION!!! MY JAW DROPPED-I INTERJECTED "WHAT IF THE HYGENIST GOES SLOWLY AROUND THAT TOOTH AND IF HE FEELS PAIN, SHE CAN STOP"? THE NASTY OFFICE MANAGER TYPE PERSON TOLD BOTH OF US NO, AND THAT THE EXAM WAS OVER, HE NEEDED TO LEAVE!!! NEEDLESS TO SAY, I GOT OUT OF MY CHAIR AND LEFT THE OFFICE TOO!!! I CALLED AETNA AND THE CORPORATE OFFICE FOR ASPEN DENTAL AND FILED COMPLAINTS. I WAS TOLD THAT A "JACK" FROM ASPEN DENTAL WOULD CALL ME BACK. THAT WAS NEARLY 24 HOURS AGO...NO CALL BACK YET.

Pain

My husdband has been in severe pain for 2 days now and so I made him a dentist appt. With our dental insurance we had to go to some one in network so I contacted Aspen dental. They did get us in that day and let me say wow how unpleased we are. They were nice but for some reason they can not do anything to ease the pain nor can they take care of the problem. Let's just say I asked them to give something for pain when we left and they refused and then after we got home my husband is now pacing because of the pain so I called the office back and she told me they would talk to the dentist and call me back an hour later she finally calls back with no news but that they would not call in anything for pain they were not simpathetic at all they jst treat you like they don't care about you. At this point I would rather pay out of pocket then continue to go back to Aspen dental, atleast when you go to your dentist even if they are out of network they atleast care when your in pain. I can not believe they make you wait another appointment before they will take care of the problem. Lesson learned.

They aren't the type of dentists you call for help. They're just out to make money.

I canceled my appointment with them despite having insurance & am paying out of pocket for real dentist. Good luck with pain.

Multiple errors

My husband had 1 tooth on the upper and 4 on the lower, when they went in to make the new teeth, the chick used the largest tray she had and did her darnest to stretch his mouth to put it in. Then discovered that it was too big and used the smaller one and said "well these will be cute". He went back for his extractions which included removing some teeth from the jaw bones.Gave him a script for 20 pain pills and more 3 days later. Then 12 days later he went in for a recheck and the chick that tried to put the large tray in his mouth pulled a bone that was working it's way through the gum out without any numbing medication, plus the *** dentist wouldn't give him more pain meds, said he'd had enough! The dentist name was Jennifer Smith. Stay away from this witch! I would like to know why the dentist didn't pull the bone, he never even saw her! But she knows he doesn't need more meds! Who knows if the dentures will even fit!

Run, Run as fast as you can from this place!

I caught the office manager padding my bill! Called her out on it and she was forced to rectify...so watch this joker carefully! Yesterday I witnessed they hygenist giving a new patient an assesment! Oh yes! The rooms are open and I sat there and heard and watched it with my own eyes. I wanted to tell that guy to run, run, run! The denture maker at this location makes the worst looking dentures that don't fit...I wonder how much training she was given. Their attitude is this is the best we can do...but prior to making the dentures every person in there told me how these would snap in, be thin, and fit like a dream...these don't even begin to line up and the teeth on the dentures look like someone chewed rocks. Without a doubt this office needs closed! Contact me as a witness when it's time to go to court...I've got data written down from day 1. Firm data and lots of pictures and plenty of recordings that I took to each visit!

Depends what state you are - many states it is perfectly legal as long as the person with the recording device is present during the recording. But some states it IS illegal. And it doesn't matter at all the location (Medical facility)Check state code.

I know Aspen all to well and I feel for anyone that goes there or anyone that works there ...They dont care about patients all they care about is money ... It costs a total of $40 dollars to make a full upper denture and $40 dollars to make a lower and they charge you ..$1,000 dollars or more for them and the man power to make them is a prosess however they pay there employees very little very little

Guest

I hope you are aware it is illegal to make any voice or video recordings in a medical facility without consent. So you should probably be careful with those recordings.

High pressure sales, poor work

I regret going to Aspen Dental very much. Wish I had paid more attention to all the bad reviews I had read and ignored. They definitely use high pressure sales tactics to get you into some big bills fast. Don't worry though because they have you signed up for a credit card before you know what is happening. I should have stopped things right there but I wasn't that smart. Over my approximately 15 visits I saw 5 or 6 different dentists. They just get anyone in they can for any amount of time they can. No one seems to actually work for Aspen. Some things went fine such as cleaning, fillings, basics. Bridge prep left me in horrible pain. I kept returning and they would look and say I was fine. One dentist woman practically accused me of just being there to get drugs. She very begrudgingly gave me a script for ibuprofen which I was already taking anyway so it was worthless. Over 3 weeks I took all of that script plus a 500 count bottle of extra strength ibuprofen, and then some more from another bottle. Finally after getting my bridges put in the pain went away. When getting one bridge adjusted I mentioned a little bit of pain when biting and instantly had a script for Vicodin thrown in my lap. Of course I didn't need it at that point. After all this and many visits to adjust one of the 2 bridges I am left with a very reduced ability to chew on one side. The last few times I stopped in they said there's no problems with it, touched it for a second with a drill, and sent me out. I can not *** down on it. My real teeth on the other side are full of "mountains and valleys" while the bridge is nearly flat. Seems to me that is the problem. I really wish I could sue them for a partial refund (some work is acceptable) but I do not know how to do anything like that. All I can do is tell everyone I know to stay away and pay my credit card bill.

Misdiagnosed

I went to Aspen dental for a second opinion. I never had anyone tell me that I needed a root canal until I went to Aspen dental. I believed them and had a root canal. 3 days later the crown fell off. I called the emergency number twice before anyone returned my call. On that Monday I went into Aspen dental with the same problem I originally went in with, A lesion on the palate of my mouth. It was no better. They gave me my money back and sent me to a specalist with the diagnosis of a possible 2nd root. There was no 2nd root but a bone growth that needed to be reduced. Do not go to Aspen Dental unless you want to be misdiagnosed.

Tried to sell

Scheduled routine exam since I just relocated to town. Exam was offered as free. Dentist looked at my teeth for less than 5 minutes and said I had serious potential dental problems and needed a "deep cleaning". Note that I had regular preventative dental check-ups up to this point. When I asked what that entailed and the costs, the dentist disappeared for 35 minutes. Dentist came back and said they could not deep clean then and I would have to return. I then got out of my exam chair and was ushered to a consultation area and given a treatment plan. The plan was going to cost me $3,700. I stated I did not have that kind of money and asked what would insurance cover. The response was that insurance did not cover their treatment plan and it would be out of pocket however they had a financing company I could apply with. The office manager wanted me to sign for the treatment and apply at that time. I stated I wanted to think about it. I was pressured to sign but did not and left the office. I went for a second opinion at a "stand alone" dental office and nothing was wrong with my teeth. Later I found that Aspen had billed my insurance company for the "free" exam. THESE FOLKS ARE CROOKS. Do yourself a favor and be wise with your money - go to another dentist.

Horrible Management

I worked for Aspen Dental for about 10 months and I can truly say it is like an assembly line, in all aspects of the word. They herd patients in and herd them out. It is as true with the employees also. The staff I worked with was wonderful however the management is horrible. From the Regional manager to the Office Manager. (And she is a stinker, phew weee).I don't think she ever smelled fresh at all. she has more BO than any man smelly man I have ever stood next to. They treat their employee like they don't matter and the same with the patients. There is no privacy, I have heard so much personal information it is ridiculous. If I were the type I could go shopping with what I hear. The Management sucks!

Don't work properly with Insurance Plans

Haven't been to a dentist in 3 years due to lack of insurance. Got Humana Dental that only paid for in network providers. Went to Aspen Dental for x-rays and an evaluation. Very friendly during evaluation and average/good on the actual work done, but tried to up-sell my wife and I on electronic tooth brushes $100 a piece, special bacteria killing mouth wash $26 a piece, and special 1.5% fluoride tooth paste/gel $26 a piece that was't covered by my insurance. My insurance only covers 2 prophylaxis a year and I explained that to my dentist but they still did 2 prophylaxis within 2 weeks stating that it was most beneficial to my health then wanted me to come back in 6 months for another for a total of 3. This wasn't fully explained in my treatment plan. They only try to up sell you on everything and don't pay attention to what the insurance provides in coverage. Be careful when discussing treatments. Make sure you get the entire YEAR treatment plan with cost in writing and you fully understand it. Know your insurance plan like the back of your hand. I don't trust these doctors. That's why I get insurance and follow what the insurance will allow. Not what the doctor wants. Getting Aspen to submit a pre-treatment estimate request to my Insurance was a pain. It took 4 weeks of me working with my Insurance company calling Aspen to finally get something. It wasn't an insurance estimate but Aspen did calculate my cost to the treatment correctly after 4 weeks. Vincennes Aspen dental doesn't do root-canals so look up reviews to who they recommend you to.

You are wasting your money with that *** Humana plan. Did you know that insurance administration costs at least 35% of the money you pay in premiums.

You are also making a grave mistake by making "network providers" a top priority in selecting dentists.

You are making sure you are selecting the most desparate and inexperienced dentists around!

That is probably why you ended up at Aspen.

Read the Kim Henry Dental Facebook page latest post. It has a good article for you entitled "In-Network and Overtreated."

Guest

It's called a soft tissue management plan.

If you broke your arm, and went to the Hospital and was told that you needed a cast to properly heal your arm otherwise, you would be permanently damaged, BUT that your insurance only paid for a splint.....what would you do?

There trying to let you know what you need to do to be 100% healthy - not trying to upsell you - that's their job ***.

Allergic reaction!!

My daughter has been there multiple times before and never had a problem until this last time. She was given a different dentist for some fillings. (she has had novicane before) Afterwards she complained of her face itching really bad. Then she woke up the next day to get ready for school and her skin around her chin had come off and where her fillings were done had sores!!! we tried to call, they weren't open, called their "emergency" line and they just blow smoke up your *** Don't bother going there because when you have a problem the last thing they want to do is help you. You'd be better off going to an urgent care dental.

The reaction you describe sounds like it was a latex allergy! Have your daughter tested by an allergist.

Guest

I feel for your daughter as going to the dentist is tough enough as it is. But since you haven't had any type of diagnosis or even bothered apparently to take your child to a doctor, you really don't know what caused this.

If the skin around her chin had actually come off as you claim, I would think this would entail a medical emergency and you should head to the closest ER.

Apparently, it was more important for you to complain here.

False diagnosis and unneeded services

If you go, you most likely have Periodontal Disease and need a deep cleaning. This will include a $150 tooth brush and a $50 cleansing solution. If not you have had bad dental work before and they will need to fix it. I have been to two additional dentist since and not one mention of periodontal or any other bad work done in the past. Sure they make most of their money this way from the posters and other fliers in the office. They also work you through their system as fast as possible to confuse you. Read all the other reviews on this chain before you decide to go to this place.

And did any of your other dentists actually check you for periodontal disease? Funny how people get angry when dentists are thorough and diagnose them properly...
