Want to know what probably happened? What you really needed was a root canal.

The young, inexperienced dentist could not do root canals on molars, and would have to send you to a specialist. Trouble is, that would have earned him no commission. So instead he decided to prepare the tooth for a crown, something that earns a big commission. There was a chance this would have relieved the pain for a while.

In your case, it did not. 2nd molar temporary crowns are hard to do. They often crack in half and come off. 99% chance you will need a root canal.

High tail it out of Aspen and go to a competent independent dentist. Call them right away and tell them to cancel plans for a crown. Then try to get some of your money back.

Don't dare let them bill the insurance company for that permanent crown. They are famous for doing things like that.

You are spot on in you final analysis. The employees at Aspen know they won't be there long.

So their only motivation is making commission the months they are there. They don't care if you are in pain. They don't care if you are happy with treatment. They don't care if you come back.

The only thing they want is for you to sign on the dotted line for a huge treatment plan, then collect the money up front for the Aspen corporate bank account. Independent are in for the long haul and are dependent on long-term patient satisfaction. They have a vested interest in pleasing you.

By the way, it is totally irresponsible to take a full series of x-rays a do a complete exam when a patient is infected and in pain. The goal should be to eliminate the pain and infection.

WOW!! Where do i start. Short version. What video to blow your mind. Went to Aspen to fix two bottom teeth. They pulled all top teeth. Braking roots in my jaw. Just ripped them out. No pain killers to releive pain. Just found out they broke a tooth & did not say anything. Held my dentures hostage until i signed a form to release them from liabilities. No warranty. I got a whole mouth of problems Aspen caused!! And dentures that dont fit at all. Thousands of dollars later. Thx. Aspen :( watch video)

Can't say whether upper teeth could have been saved or not. Aspen seldom encounters a tooth it does not want to yank out.

Before surgery you should have been read and signed an informed consent listing broken root tips as a possible complication. If you signed that, you have no case. We cannot hold patient dentures hostage until a release from reliability is signed. It would not hold up in court anyway because it was signed under duress.

Dentures are not like lawn mowers. They don't come with warranties. Sorry to hear of your troubles. You went to the sleaziest chain of dental offices in America, so it is not surprising you got fleeced.

Chance are very slim you will get a refund from this merry band of criminals.

Most money filched by them disappears into a black hole, never to be seen again. Think things through next time, and go to an honest independent dentist who owns his own office.

There are a few people that cannot wear dentures no matter how well they are made. That is why we dentists discourage patients from having their teeth pulled.

Patients usually have to fight with Aspen for refunds. Better take the money and run. Then find a competent independent dentist and start over.

Well-made dentures cost $1600-$1900 EACH. You made a big mistake going to a corporate chop shop like Aspen to get dentures made.

Sure would have saved money to have had a competent dentist make your dentures to start with, wouldn't it? Perhaps a skilled independent dentist can reline them to make them fit better.

You will of course have to pay him for that service.

Good laboratory relines made out of heat-cured acrylic cost $450-$550 per denture. Go shopping for a very low price on this and you will have someone do a substandard job again!

Tooth extractions can be rough, especially later in life. Tell me, why did you not take care of your teeth and save them, rather than neglect them and have them extracted? Regardless, going to a sh!hole corporate clinic like Aspen instead of an honest independent dentist was a big mistake.

They promised to pull my fiance teeth and provide him with proper dentures. He signed a loan agreement to provide what his insurance company would not cover. They never pulled all the teeth and gave him temporary dentures that didn't fit properly. When he called and complained they refused to see him because they claimed he owed them money. Now the loan company is suing him and attempting garnishing his wages. We went to my dentist who did remove the remaining teeth that Aspen was supposed to which cost me 300.00 because those teeth were causing problems

A$pen trick #173: Collect all the money for a procedure up front. Do some of the promised treatment, then claim the patient owes more money.

Why did your fiance want to lose all of his teeth instead of saving some and having PARTIAL dentures or overdentures? That was unwise. Did alarm bells not ring when these con artists want all the money up front? No honest dentist does treatment that way.

Good luck trying to fight these scammers. They are like drug addicts- stealing money from whomever they can.

In return, they provide services that are third-world quality. You made a bad decision when you sent your fiance there instead of an independent dentist.
