I hate this company

I started my procedure with Aspen dental Battle Creek office, this has been the worst make I have ever made. Twice they have schedule an appointment me (twice) and both times I take off work I can go there, to find oh we can't find an appointment for you and each time I have a appointment card. I have to take time off work only to be told there's no appointment. I feel they are every condescending, always saying they want the best for me. If they want the best why do they keep messing up my appointment time.

The why do you go there? I am sure A$pen isn't the only dental office in Battle Creek.

Heck, that is where the Kellog plant is, isn't it? Plenty of honest dentists would love to have you as a patient. Yet you chose the very grubbiest of the corporate chop shops in the US! How much is your time worth?

Much more than the money you think you are saving at a clip joint like A$pen.

Capitalism is about choosing the place you are treated best. Exercise your freedom of choice!

I visited the office in San Antonio on West Wood!

I found it to be a great experience, I was treated well by all of the staff, but I was especially well taken care of by Dr. Rang and Jenni, they all listened and addressed my needs professionally. No complaints! Thank you!! Walt Perryman

Good news, Walt! You weren't fleeced on THAT appointment.

They didn't scam you- YET! Look over these 3500+ complaints. Do you REALLY think you will be the one that escapes unharmed? Funny you should post a compliment on a site designed for complaints.

Did they ask you to that, Walt? REMEMBER, there are only two kinds of Aspen patients: 1. Those that have been scammed. 2.

Those that have not been scammed YET.

Be grateful you are still in group 2. Don't press your luck!

Medicare has never covered dentures, and still does not cover dentures. Did you mean your Medicare supplement policy?

The legal billing date for dentures is the date of FINAL impressions? Did you have the final impressions? If so, that is when you should see a charge applied.

Legalities like that never stop crooks like the ones who own and manage Aspen. They may have billed for dentures right after they received the pre-authorization for them.

I can't believe those crooks charged out for a denture before ANY impressions were even taken!!! Usually even Aspen is not THAT dishonest!

Temporary dentures

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I won't make this too long, but this is what happened I had 22 teeth extracted and temporary dentures put in the same day, well this was on January 21st 2019. Since day one I have yet to be able to wear them , eat with them or talk with them. They do not fit properly and they are no use to me at all and to this day which is March 10th 2019 I am still unable to wear them and my gums are still soar even now after almost 2 months of not having my teeth. I find this is unexceptable and I am very dissatisfied and thinking of going to another dentist for my permanent dentures. Tell me what do you think?

No dental school textbook teaches having that many teeth extracted at one appointment and dentures put in. All the BACK teeth are supposed to be extracted and bone contoured, and then wait AT LEAST 3 MONTHS.

before taking impressions. When dentures are fabricated, the front teeth are removed. Even this technique is inaccurate, but at least there is a prayer of the denture being wearable.

No matter how much money you pay at Aspen, you probably won't get any denture you can wear. Dentists are just not given enough time to complete all the necessary steps, and lab techs are too inexperienced.

You could walk up to corporate headquarters and slit both wrists, and those rascals would not refund a dime. Easier to get blood from a turnip than a refund from Aspen.

Guest

Diane, If they refused to do your dentures unless you had grafts or implants, would you have been mad? As bad as Aspen is, I often refuse to do dentures for patients without enough bone.

There is simply no way to make them work.

If you case is that difficult, maybe it would have been better to visit a specialist like me called a "Prosthodontist." Look it up int he local directory. I doubt it will be possible, but perhaps he can reline your Aspen denture or adapt it to work with implants.

I wonder why: 1. People put compliments on complaint websites.

2. The use words like fabulous, fantastic, etc. 3. They always put such words in capital letters.

4. They always are sure to put at least one employee's name.

? Looks to me like the Aspen Vice President of Online Damage Control has been hard at work on this website.

Joanne, It is not wise to put your full name and phone on a public forum. Prepare to receive a lot of phone scams.

Which is a shame, because you have already been scammed enough by A$pen. The miracle of it is that your first pair from A$pen is wearable. I guess some people can tolerate nearly anything. Sorry to break the news, but A$pen is not going to call you back, nor give you a credit.

They got your money, and they are done with you.

You aren't dealing with a regular practice owned by a conscientious dentist. You are dealing with a chain of chop shops owned by Wall Street crooks that have been disciplined by FOUR state attorneys-general.

The service i received was outstanding , the dentist and his team were very professional and plesant to deal with. As for the front office people thats another story, very unprofessional. If the hours on the door state 8 to 5 then the doors should be open at 8 and not 8:25 with no reason as to why the doors were not opened, just business as usual. This is a trend the next day same thing my appointment was at 9 but the doors were locked again hours indicated 8 to 5, someone finally came to the front door (9:23) to tell me the dentist was not available which was not a problem things happen but someone should have called and informed me so i could have rescheduled the visit. Office manager made it seem like it was my fault for coming to a scheduled appointment.

The shocking thing about these *** corporate clinics is that they do not typically trust the dentists with the keys or alarm codes. So if the office manager is late, everyone is locked out of the office and cannot open shop.

Dentists and staff frequently quit at the spur of the moment with no notice.

So offices are left without a dentist to make patient treatment legal. These are not the kind of places you want to entrust your oral health to.

Their incompetence must be curtailed by someone in POWER!

On another adjustment visited more adjustments were done I was told to bite down and grind my teeth. I did what I was told and I found that it was even. However the assistant found to molars that were to long and she trim them down. We then left the office. While having lunch my tongue was cut with the molars jagged edges I could not wear them. Aspen dental should not allowed to serve the public in such a disastrous manner. We must ban together to stop them from becoming rich from stealing our money and disfiguring our appearance and causing our ill health.

First thing to do is write your state legislator to tell your state dental board to enforce its practice laws. Most states prohibit non-dentists from owning dental practices, yet that is exactly what scam operations like Aspen and Coast and Great Expressions do.

If the bite had been accurately done, nobody would have had to grind on your denture teeth. However, probably all that needs to be done is smooth the edge off with a polishing point. Corporate chop shops like Aspen, Affordable Dentures, and Coast are horrible places to get dentures or any other sort of treatment.

There are plenty of good independent dentists out there that construct quality dentures. But if you think you are going to get a good denture for under $1000 or so, you are delusional

Which time? Hubby had a 200$ toothbrush added to an estimate. Had a temp partial that never fit right. Then was told after that my insurance won't cover a permanent partial. Tried to sell me a bridge and 2 seperate cleanings! 1 for my gums?? Wth? Huge turnover. Never the same people. Then, before I had my knee replaced, needed dental clearance. I was required to have a cleaning before I got clearance, had just been in! Went in for a toothache. Was referred to have a root canal on a tooth with a root canal...antibiotics remedied the issue as it turned out to be sinusitis.

Thank goodness the root canal was referred out to a competent endodontist. Otherwise you would have had a root canal, and had to have a crown afterwards.

You saved a lot of money. News flash: Aspen's cheaply made partials almost never fit right. 2nd news flash: Aspen tries to sell those overpriced toothbrushes to nearly every patient.

Crooks treat patients crookedly. PLEASE seek out the services of a good independent dentist that has nothing to do with a slimebag corporation like Aspen, Coast, Dental One, Great Expressions, or any similar hustlers.

Had 4 teeth pulled that might have not needed to be pulled

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I went to Aspen Dental in Leominster MA because I lost a crown off of a bridge. I had the crown reglued by my former dentist in May of 2018. The crown fell out again. I went to Aspen and they did xrays of the lost crown and the 3 other molars involved in the bridge on the upper left side. They told me that the bridge and the 3 teeth needed to be pulled plus one other molar on the right side because the teeth had decayed. (I was not experiencing any pain but was nervous about the bridge coming off because of losing the anchor crown. They had me seen by the hygenist and when I was finished with the consult I had a $12,000.00 plan to fix my teeth. This included crowns in my front teeth, scraping my gums ect ect ect. Mind you I have been seeing my dentist for cleanings ect. I have dental insurance. I came home and thought about it for a day and then cancelled the appt. I had read reviews on Aspen at this location and there were many neg reviews. I should have gotten a second opinion. However I gave it some thought and figuered why would they lie to me? Pretty stupid. I called back and made the appt for the extractions. That was 4 days ago. They took 3 molars on the left and one on the right. They told me that they would put a partial in so that I could chew. No partial that day. I was there from 2pm until almost 5pm and in pain from the extractions. They were so over booked. I sat in the waiting room in pain and asked them if they could put the partial in the next day for which I had an Appt for post op. They said that would be fine. I went to the appt the next day and sat in the chair for a good 45 min before I was seen. I Then asked why it was taking so long, and was told that the lab was polishing the partial. Another 20 minutes and the dentist came in with the partial which did not fit and was so painful when she put it in my mouth. I was told to wear it during the day so I could chew. I left with the partial and an Appt for January 9th for another partial?? I came home and tried so hard for this partial to work for me. It didnt come close to fitting my mouth. It moved all over the place. I could not begin to chew with it. I finally took it off after hours of trying to make it work. I then spent the next night and day in extreme pain. I dont trust this establishment. I now have no molars in my upper mouth to chew with. I am 64 years old and have spent thousands of dollars on my teeth so that I will have them in my senior years. I will go to my Appt on the 9th and see what they come up with. I dont have a lot of faith at this point but dont have a lot of choices. At this point I realize I should have gotten a 2nd opinion. Hard lesson to learn

I feel your pain, as well as my wife! I have never heard of such incompetence from a company.

Unfortunately, I wad mistaken on how many years my wife had her dentures from Aspen Dental.

It was actually only a little over 2 years and 5 teeth have been replaced! That's just not right!

Guest

You can't make a partial that would fit right after molars are pulled. No way!

There has to be a lot of time for healilng first- preferably at least 3 months. The first thing to do is demand x-rays of those molars before they were removed. You have a right to copies of those x-rays. Then take those x-rays to a COMPETENT INDEPENDENT dentist and see if he says the teeth could have been saved.

If so, go after that A$pen dentist by a board of dentistry complaint. Denstist fear boards of dentistry, even though Aspen doesn't. The Dental Boards can't do a thing against the crooked investors and executives that run Aspen, because they don't have professional licenses to take away. Aspen operates as it does by corrupting young dentists into participating in money-grubbing scams.

If young dentists realize it is just to risky to work for crooks, Aspen will crash and burn. In the future, remember that any health professional that has to advertise on TV and radio to get enough patients is almost certainly a crook.

If your immediate denture is that crummy, imagine what the final one will be like! Teeth fall out when lab technicians are rushed and don't remove all the wax before processing the denture in heat-cured acrylic.

The teeth cannot bond with wax on them and fall out. Before you let A$pen Crime Syndicate construct your final dentures, I would check with an independent dentist to see if your ridges are correctly contoured.

You would be making a big mistake letting A$pen fabricate your final dentures. That Comfilyte junk they love to sell does not hold onto teeth very well.
